He has a sense of humor about everything. He knows he's cute and popular, and is sure that you'll be his friend. He's silly and goofy and just loveable all the way around. He enjoys other dogs a lot, did great with cats he met, and likes children. The person who found Jeffrey had a 4 year old boy, and Jeffrey did well with him. Her only concern is that Jeffrey was a beggar and that didn't work well with a 4 year old. Jeffrey did great at the groomer and vet offices, too. He loves going to the dog park. His foster mom thinks he'd love a doggie companion in his new home. Are you watching your weight? How about if you watch Jeffrey's, too? He is 82 pounds. He is not the heaviest springer we've had in our rescue (we've had one weigh in at 93 pounds) but he definitely is ready for a diet. We did bloodwork, and it turned out that he has a low thyroid. He will be on thryoid meds (about $10 a month) from now on, and that will help him a lot. In our experience, many of our chubby dogs had low thyroid and the meds helped tremendously. Other than his weight, Jeffrey is in good health: neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on all shots, no ear infections, etc. He may never be a dog that you take on runs, but he likes to get out and move every day! He loves to do an after-dinner romp where he runs around the house and yard with the resident Springer. He plays and looks like a bucking bronco with his jumps. It really cracks up his foster family to watch him. Jeffrey was found as a stray. After 3 weeks of posting ads in the newspaper and notices in the shelter, no one came to get him. A nice groomer took care of him and then brought him to rescue. His foster home says he's super sweet and super easy to get along with. He really enjoys cuddling and ear scratches. We'll be looking for a home where people will have fun with him and give him lots of love.
