Album Info:

Age: 18 months Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 22 lbs. Variety: Field-Bred This young boy is Tommy, and he is looking for his Forever Home. Tommy's life has been rough, and he has had a lot of heartache at such a young age. He was abandoned, along with several other dogs, chickens, rabbits and various other animals, who were all left to fend for themselves for almost 2 weeks when their “owners” moved and left them all behind. He was quite thin and weak, and only weighed 22 pounds when he came into rescue. He is a small boy but he needs to gain about 5-8 pounds to be at his ideal weight according to the vet. He has been given all his vaccinations, is heartworm negative and he is neutered. Despite everything, Tommy has an enthusiasm for life that he can't hide, and he is very well adjusted. He is full of energy, but also loves to crawl into anyone's lap he can find and just be loved! Something I'm sure he has had little of until now. He fit very well into his foster home with the two resident Springers, and has gotten along wonderfully with everyone he has met, people and dogs alike. He enjoys the long hikes with his foster mom and foster brothers, and is very good at keeping close and checking in often, even when off leash. He prefers to walk by your side or slightly behind you Tommy has very good house manners, no chewing, no counter surfing, no begging; just a joy to have around. Tommy loves to sleep in the living room while everyone is just hanging out. When all of the boys are in the kitchen, wet from their hike, he curls up on a dog bed quite contently. He is crate trained and housetrained, and was very good for the groomer. He is just an all-around great boy. Tommy will make some lucky family a wonderful companion. He is looking for that loving family that he so deserves. Come and meet him, and see for yourself! Just a note on Tommy's first real Christmas: He went to a family party with over 15 adults, half a dozen teens and a 9 year old, and he made sure to spend time with each one in his own calm way. He just wants to be loved. Over and over his foster mom kept hearing how amazing he was, and how good natured. Nobody could believe the terrible conditions he came from just 3 days prior. He truly is a gem. In his foster mom's words, “We are very lucky to have him with us”.
