Age: 3 years Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 78 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Murphy was found wandering by some very nice people who knew right away that he was special. They looked high and low for his family, but no one ever came to get him, so they brought him to ESRA to find a new home. He is a very sweet and well-socialized guy who loves people, other dogs, and gets along with cats. He has not been tested with children, but given his gentle personality, we expect he will do well with them. Even though he is a very hefty doggy, it does not slow him down at all. He loves to run, fetch, wrestle with other dogs, catch a Frisbee and he especially loves to swim. You can see a video of him playing in the water with his foster brother here or here. He is completely housetrained, is good for his bath, sits for treats, but needs a little more work walking on a leash. Murphy is healthy and current on all vaccinations, neutered, and heartworm negative. Murphy is very overweight due to a under-active thyroid and an over-active appetite, but he's started on medication and is in a foster home where he will get lots of exercise and we expect him to lose quite a bit of the weight. He's very motivated because his life long goal is to be a lap dog. He likes lots of exercise so he would do best in an active home.
