I was evacuated to Baton Rouge with my family from New Orleans during hurricane Katrina. I was boarded for a month at a Baton Rouge Veterinarian Clinic because my family found an apartment to live in that did not accept pets. My family is finally back home but my family's parents (who are elderly) were permanently displaced. With so many extra people to take care of and everyone working full time – my family is overwhelmed and feels they can no longer care for me. So….I am looking for another home – all because of that stupid Hurricane! I am 7 years old and a very beautiful black and white little girl. I really don't like the idea of a kennel but I have finally gotten used to it and don't mind for short periods of time. I don't mind other dogs so long as they are quiet and reserve like me and are not in my face. I am spayed and up to date on all shots and heartworm free. Now for the qualifications of the kind of family I'm looking for and so richly deserve. I would love a home where there is a quiet, sedate environment with a family who is home a lot so they can give me the attention that I need and am accustomed to getting. I would love to be part of a family where I am an only child like before. I don't require a lot of exercise but would enjoy the company on a daily stroll around the neighborhood. I actually could use the exercise at this point because my foster mom thinks I'm a bit overweight. An older couple who did not want a very active dog, just a companion to hang around with them – would be wonderful. Please let me know if you are the lucky couple!!!
