I survived my stay in a high kill shelter but most of all, survived breast cancer. I was rescued, cold and wet and heavily matted. When they took me to the vet I was still lactating from a recent litter of puppies and it makes me sad because I don't know if they survived. But the vet also found a lot of lumps in one of my mammary chains. The lumps were removed and some were malignant cancer. But the good news is that it's a very slow growing kind and the vet feels he got it all so I have a good chance for a normal life span. I've settled well into my foster home and get along with kids, cats and other dogs. I've been housebroken and learned for the first time about chew bones, treats, couches and laps. Laps are my favorite! My foster parents think I've been abused because I'm very submissive and a little afraid of loud noises and voices. But as I'm getting more comfortable in my foster home, my cheerful personality is blossoming. I am no longer physically perfect since my mastectomy and there are no guarantees, but I'm still full of life and have so much love to give. I would like to have a forever home where they will appreciate a Survivor and love me back. Do you know of one?
