Album Info:
Age: 18 months Gender: Male Color: Black/White Weight: 50 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Hi, my name is Maurey. You won't find a young man who has more love and cuddles to give anyone, and everyone, who gets near enough to receive them. I'm one-to-two years old, have a beautiful coat, and an exceptional personality. I do well in the fenced backyard for several hours at a time, as well as behave in the house unattended for several hours. I have not destroyed anything and have been the perfect houseguest. I love to play in the sprinklers with my foster mom's seven-year-old granddaughter, but have yet been introduced to the lake to see the swimmer I know that I am. Being high energy I enjoy playing catch and other backyard games. I have only been at my foster home for ten days, and we had to get all that medical stuff taken care of, so I am now just back to being myself. I live peacefully with my foster dad's ten-year-old female, as long as she doesn't go close to my food when I'm eating or chewing my rawhide bone. A little growl takes care of the problem. Everything else is fair game and I try to get her to join in with the games. When I get excited my whole body ripples from head to tail, and it is such a beautiful sight. I love to ride in the car, go on walks, and really love toys, especially balls and tug-toys. Being a very tall and svelte young man, but only weighing fifty pounds, it is very easy for me to see what's on the counters and kitchen table. We are working on my manners regarding that issue, but I'm really smart and a very quick learner (sometimes too smart when it comes to opening gate doors). When I was rescued from the shelter, I had mats on top of mats, to the point where my foster mom wasn't sure I was even an English Springer. However, after a long two-hour bath, and an all-day beauty appointment, I came out looking like royalty. I think I like cats, but I haven't been tested. I know that I fit so beautifully into my foster family, and their families, and would fit into your family also. Coordinator's Note: We have some testing to do with Maury. We need to see how he is with cats, and how he does with his recall. We also need to leave him alone longer. At this point he has only been alone for three to four hours. We're also seeing if he would do best with another dog. He CAN get anxious, and he can escape from a crate. Absolutely no crates for Maury. Also, at this point we are thinking he needs to be with a family where someone works part-time or from home.
