In spite of all the recent changes in her life, she has remained a happy girl that is eager to learn and please. Both her owners went into assisted care and she lost her sister so she is looking for a new Forever Home with a family that will dote on her, preferably with another dog that she can "learn the ropes" from. When Elaine first got to her foster home she was shy and scared, but settled in and adjusted quickly. She follows her foster Dad around and will always be found sitting at his feet. She gets along great with both resident dogs, often running and romping in true Springer fashion with her foster sister. Elaine is housetrained, obedient and a quick learner. Before coming to ESRA it's told she had little leash training, but has learned quickly to walk on one. She has a puppy-like enthusiasm when greeting you. Because she came from a somewhat insular situation with an elderly couple, it is unknown how she is with cats or children, but she was recently introduced to a toddler and was fine, only to bark at him until corrected, then stopped. She barks when strangers come to the house, but will stop on correction. She is getting acclimated to meeting new people in her foster home. Elaine would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time.
