Album Info:
Age: 11 months Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 29 lbs. Variety: Field-bred Sammy is a beautiful and sweet eleven month old, liver and white Springer. He came from the Tacoma, WA Humane Shelter after being returned for being too hyperactive. In the one week he's been out of the shelter, he is already a loyal and loving puppy. He loves to lean up against you and have his ears massaged. Like most young pups, Sammy has more energy then he knows what to do with! He loves to exercise. He enjoys playing fetch, but doesn't always want to give the ball back. We have enjoyed walks, hikes, and he did very well on our first jog. I introduced him to Lake Washington, which he seemed to like at first, but after his initial swim, would not go back in! In one week's time, he is already walking better on his leash, and is learning to Sit and Stay Down. Sammy's favorite toy is a rubber ball on a rubber string, that he loves to carry around. He also loves his chew toys, and will lay quietly for awhile with one. Sammy is not a barker. He has not been left alone in the house yet. He does well in the fenced yard, other than a little digging. He sleeps quietly in his crate. I have had some trouble with jealousy issues with Sammy and my other dog. He needs lots of attention, and doesn't like it when I pet my other dog. He can also play too hard with the resident dog, who is only 20 pounds. He might do better with a bigger dog. Sammy has been introduced to many different dogs and seems to do well under supervision. He would do well with another dog he could play with, but he would also enjoy getting all the attention, so either scenario would be good for him. Sammy will make a great addition for someone with an active lifestyle. He is not yet child tested, but seemed to do okay with a cat. He is exuberant, and will just need time to grow up. Sammy is potty trained, neutered, and micro chipped. The vet said his ears were a little inflamed at the ear drum, and the skin was pink. He thought it was most likely a sensitivity to grass pollen, and that Sammy would grow out of it. I have been using a steroid cream, which Sammy seems to like. He is a very sweet boy who has a lot to offer. He is a very quick learner, and eager to please. He's affectionate and fun and enjoys life.
