Album Info:
Age: 2-3 years Gender: Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 45 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-Bred This pretty little girl is June! June was found as a stray and taken into a local animal shelter. She was very sick when she was found and quite jaundiced and they were concerned they would not be able to find her a home because of this. An ESRA volunteer went to visit June at the shelter and saw what a great girl she was but also knew that we needed to get her out and to the vet. As soon as we were able, June was sprung from the shelter and taken in to see what was making her not feel well. After many tests and procedures it was discovered that June had suffered damage to her liver but we will probably never know the cause of this damage. The good news is that after two weeks at the vet clinic, June was well enough to go to her foster home so we could find her that new Forever Home she longs for. She is doing much better and her liver seems to be repairing itself with good care and a special diet. We are hopeful that June will make a full recovery and at the most, she will need to stay on her special dog food to keep her healthy and have periodic bloodwork initially, to monitor the health of her liver. June is a young, friendly, energetic girl, with a zest for life. She is in a foster home with other Springers and gets along very well with them, she fit into the pack very quickly. June is a very smart girl, and although she doesn't appear to have had much training, she is very quick to learn and responds well to correction. She learned the doggie door right away by following the resident dogs lead, and now zips right through as is he has always used one. It also only took her about a minute to learn where the treats were kept, as she's a very food oriented girl! June is very loving, loves to be close to you, and just adores all the attention that she is getting now in her foster home. Her tail is always wagging and she is just a very happy girl. June is housetrained, up to date on all of her vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed, and microchipped. Come and meet June. She is a special girl, who will make a great companion and friend! Update 18 DEC 06: June went to the vet on December 15th for blood work, and all of her liver enzyme levels are now normal. Her prognosis is for a long, healthy, happy life! She will have to stay on her special diet for a year but she is ready to find her very own Forever Home!
