Age: Adult Gender: Neutered Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 50 lbs Variety: Bendh/Show Bred Josh-Thomas (and it's two first names, like Mary-Kate Olsen or Sara-Michelle Gellar) is an awesome L/W Springer and is named after a linebacker for the Colts. I picked him up from a county shelter in central Indiana, and he was a mess. Mats throughout his fur, and suffering from a significant ear infection. We shaved him down, got him to the vet, and began working on his ears. In six months, he has never had an accident in the house, he has never destroyed anything in my home, he has never showed any sign of aggression, and he gets along perfectly with my other two dogs. He has never bothered my pet birds - although I do catch him eyeballing them sometimes (he is a bird dog, you know) - and he is unknown with cats. He knows some commands, like "sit" and "go in your house" - both of which he knew his first day here. The vet estimates his age at 4 to 5 years old - he's old enough to have proper manners, but young enough to be playful and full-o-life. Don't let his sad eyes fool you - it's a trick! He is a happy and contented dog... he loves to play ball and follow you around wherever you go, but he's just as happy to lay at your feet and watch TV all night. He stays in his crate when I am gone or sleeping, but several times I have left him out all night and he has not bothered anything...I believe he could easily be trained to be out of his crate full-time with just a little work. His worst habit is that he will shred a kleenex if he finds one on the floor. His ear infections have been an ongoing problem, and his adoptive parent(s) will have to commit to continued treatment until it is resolved. If I wasn't moving to NYC, I would have chosen to fail Foster Parenting 101 and kept him - but I can't. Josh-Thomas is an excellent boy and any dog-lover would be lucky to have him share their life.
