I am a loving, happy, well-behaved Springer boy who was tearfully relinquished by my Mom and Dad. They loved me very much, gave me regular vet care and good food, but just didn't have the time to give me all the attention and exercise I need. So in my best interest, they decided I needed a new home where I could have those things I have missed. For a five and a half year old (8/4/01) I have alot of energy and gusto! I love to play with the tennis ball, take a dip in the pool or just hang out with you while you work in the yard. I am neutered, crate trained, doggie door trained, housetrained, don't chew on things that aren't mine, don't get on the furniture and know all the basic commands both verbally and via hand signals. My only downfall is I get so excited, I will jump on you. My foster Mom and Dad are working on that, so it shouldn't be a problem when you adopt me. I would prefer an active family with a stay-at-home Mom or Dad and children over 10 who I couldn't knock over. I get along well with all the other dogs here and haven't even noticed the resident cats. A canine companion to play with would also be ideal. I need room to run and if you have a pool I could jump in, that would be a bonus! While I have had regular vet care, I had a bad reaction to the Distemper/Parvo vaccine about 3 years ago. Mom and Dad don't know if this was perhaps a bad lot as I had had all my regular shots until then. I will be seeing Dr. Julie next week, so we will keep you updated. From my Foster Parents: Cooper is a wonderful, happy-go-lucky boy who just needs someone to exercise him and give him some attention. He is very well behaved and loves everyone he meets. He is quite energetic, but we feel with regular activity, that will subside a bit. He needs to lose about 10 pounds which shouldn't be hard with all the room he has to run at the Ranch!
