Album Info:
Age: 7 months Gender: Female Color: Black/White Weight: 28 lbs. Variety: Field-Bred Meet Rosie, the little rocket! She is a seven-month-old Fieldie that excels at acceleration, but true to her Springer roots, she is never out of shooting range. Rosie needs a job, or at least to practice at one every day. Flyball, agility, hunting, but on an Olympic level. She is a competitor's dream. She is easily handled, once she's convinced you're the boss. Rosie has a very high learning curve, coupled with the intensity that comes from being a working dog. Rosie has spent her first six months living soft and cozy. Now, what she really seeks is the working life, everyday. She appreciates structure, which gives her a chance to show off her high I.Q. Rosie would do best in a home without kids, or with older kids, as she does tend to dominate younger kids. She has a robust constitution, as she will eat any type of food, and not so much as a burp. Rosie does not countersurf, get in the garbage, or run away. She is housetrained, crate trained, and is an excellent travelling companion. She is happy to curl up on a seat, front or back, and sleep. Anyone can take anything away from her, food as she is eating it, toys currently being chewed on, or the socks that she just loves to carry. She is not clingy. She is content to be in close proximity, but definitely not an "in your face" dog. She is not affection jealous of other dogs. She does like to be with other dogs, and prefers to be the boss. She is happy to curl up with her foster brothers, and is very calm and quiet in the house. She will follow you from room to room, and you may forget this until you close the bathroom door and realize you are not alone. You will not trip over Rosie. Although you may back up and step on her, she likes to follow people not lead them. I think a fenced-in yard is best. Rosie does not waste time. She goes out to potty and wants to come right back in. If some other dog were to come in her yard, she would definitely chase it out. First time visitors should either ignore the dog when entering the house, or keep their hands in their pockets until everyone is sitting quietly. She is NOT aggressive. She just has this quirk of grabbing peoples hands when people are excited in greeting each other. She enjoys petting, but does not pester people to get it. Rosie loves to be picked up and carried around. She does not struggle. You can touch anywhere on Rosie, she is submissive and will roll on her back when disciplined. If she is being to bossy to her brothers, I tell her"Stop" which gets her attention, then "Go lay down." firmly. If I say it too firmly, she rolls on her back exposing her belly. She is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and spayed.
