When we walked into the enclosed bird cage at the St. Louis Zoo, this bird really gave me a scare. I thought he was hurt or dead. I was ready to go hunt for one of the zoo staff to report a hurt or dead bird when my husband got closer and said that the bird was just sunbathing. We were able to get a few photos before he flew up into the trees. P1030678

  • What fabulous colours! Wonderful to think they are produced by nature and not artificially. It is a bit alarming to see birds 'sunbathing' and worrying that they're injured.
