This is almost like a painting Kelly - awesome job! Thanks so much for your visit the other day! Yes you are right, I feel badly, we'll have to get together next time I am in your neck of the woods! Seems like either I have visitors tagging along, playing tour guide, or just have a day or so and not enough time. After Ike in Oktober though I was just a mess, after all the cleanup work and 2 weeks of no electricity etc and really just wanted to crash in a nice hotel and rest...and christmas Mike was so sick we ended up going home after a nite (he was sick 6 weeks and ended up with a bad pneumonia)...Have a wonderful day! Marita

Sorry, got carried away butits an important issue for me. Also sorry for typos I found after ..wish Am Greetings would have changed this to have an after post correct ability. for tranatulas, I know its tarantulas; and OD - IS DO...lol lol @ me...sorry..and for any others you find I missed. When I get worked up over something I care deeply about..well..my fibromyalgia nowdays seems to make me not typo so much but type whole wrong words! Talk about scary. like, "I saw the Tiger coming, those big paws running, eyes zeroed in on money, and I froze in fearl." MONEY? Yupyupyup(in the tradition of Bill Cosby) THAT's the kind of errors even spell check won't "hep". Thanks for puttin' up with me.

"dont you want to take him home with you?" YES,YES,YES,YES,....NO. lol Yes, in the afterlife I plan to have alllll sorts of big cats around my "mansion"...but as much as I want to grab that cat and ruffle its fur like crazy and hug it and kiss it RIGHT NOW!!!! I know better and only want him or her happy, out in the wild, or if not possible due to being caged for years, I want him/her in one of those refuges where they make lots of room to roam and its just as close to home for them as possible. God Bless the people that make and maintain those places. I HATE zoos, caging those poor things for YEARS; circuses for BEATING ELEPHANTS with metal hooks to MAKE them do things THEY want them to do-theyn when after 30 years she goes on a ramapage, has HAD IT, and tramples the guy with the hooks everyone there goes, "WHY DID IT OD IT?" He was lucky she let him get away with it 30 years. That is just WRONG. Poor thing. Then they killed her. They should have tranquilized her (those should always be on hand) and taken her to an elephant home for the retired. Our zoo elephant, Bunny, is now happily living in one.It was SO nice to see her released, and watch the slow getting to know the other 2 "ladies" (that morning) but it really didnt take long and Bunny had two new ladyfriends for the FIRST TIME IN HER 50 YEARS!! That's happy and sad at the same time. This IS a beautiful photo, Kel,and Im thankful for the photo record we have of them, as they are all becoming extinct or close. They need to stop tearing down their natural habitat. Thanks for contributing to awareness, Kelli. Your beautiful pictures can't help but grab hearts and make US ALL think. Thank you !! (and everyother wildlife photographer) I want to be one someday. But doubt I'll make it to Africa. I'd like to, at the same time it scares me to death. Know why? NOT the lions, tigers, or bears OH MY! But the little nasty critters hanging around your tent...tranatulas, poison bugs/frogs, dog size rodents, snakes. This truly is a most beautiful closeup, can"feel" theFur.

You just want to give him a big kiss!

My husband was in the Australian Army and they had one of these tigers as a mascot, he was 4yrs old when I first saw him, beautiful, big & majestic is the words to describe him. He has a wonderful nature and would lick you to death great to play with to, had a nature which is apparently very rare for such a big cat, he's as meek as a domesticated cat. Awsome photo, well captured

"Tiger, tiger burning bright, In the forest of the night..." There can never be a tiger that is truly tame, only a little less dangerous than those born and bred in the wild. These powerful and unpredictable animals catch our attention because of their beautiful fur and grace of movement, but they are deadly and many people now are seeking photo ops with big cats, albeit young ones, but even these are capable of suddenly turning on a person and maiming or even killing him. Big cats should not be in captivity. They are imprisoned in insanitary conditions which are a far cry from the wide open spaces that are their natural habitat. Unfortunately, whenever we visit zoos, which people do from a natural love for animals, we reinforce the system, which deprives these animals of their liberty and natural social structure. It does nothing to help non predatory animals, as animals still have to be slaughtered to feed them. Wild life reserves are much better than zoos. The BBC will be screening the third and last programme in a fascinating wildlife series by naturalist, David Attenborough, this coming Monday. You ccan watch it on your computer screen over the Internet at any time during the seven day period following the broadcast. Obviously the picture will not be as big, but it is still worth watching.
