Ashton was a stray that ended up in a shelter in Southwest Ohio. As soon as his foster mom met him at the shelter, she knew he was a very special springer. We're not sure how long he was on his own. By the time he was rescued, his rib bones were showing and he had pneumonia. Even through all of this, he has been a very sweet and gentle boy. Now that Ash is all better, it's with a heavy heart and a happy heart that his foster mom & dad add his name to the list of wonderful springers in need of a warm and loving forever home. Ashton loves everyone and everything. He has passed the toddler test with our 2 yr old grandson and has passed the "other doggies" test with his 4 foster siblings. He enjoys car rides, hiking, playing ball - anything, especially if his family is with him. He does the typical springer counter surfing and will sneak into the garbage every now and then if he thinks his foster mom isn't looking. He's learning that these habits earn him a stern "no". Ash thinks he's a lap dog and loves to snuggle with us in our chairs. He will continue to thrive in a home that enjoys his affection and gives it back to him tenfold. Another dog in the household or a person who is home a good deal of the day is a requirement so that he has a playmate and a companion when his family is away. He has not been crated in his foster home.
