He is a trained hunting dog, knows hand signals, and listens well. He is also a beloved companion who is very people-oriented. He is housetrained, kennel trained, and trustworthy in the house. Hunter came to us when his owner died. He was very special to this gentleman and was taken care of. Hunter has gotten attention, exercise and consistent vet care. Hunter especially loves men and you can tell that he is trying to bond. He loves everyone, though, and is very social. He has not been around kids yet but we imagine he would do well, at least with older kids, because of his personality. He was around an older person with Alzheimer's and seemed to know to be extra gentle and cautious. He also does well with other dogs and even cats!! Hunter needs a very active home where he can either continue hunting or go on lots of outdoor excursions like hikes and swims. He will walk you if given the chance. Like many Springers, he needs consistent work on his leash training. He has a lot of energy and loves to burn it off. He'd like to spend a lot of time with you and go for car rides and be your buddy. He is a well-behaved, happy boy. We want to give Hunter a life like he was accustomed to, full of attention and love. Hunter will be that fantastic companion you've been dreaming of.
