Album Info:

Age: 13 months Gender: Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 36 lbs. Variety: Field-bred Crystal was rescued from the shelter in San Gabriel on September 12th, when their staff summoned ESRA for help. She was an owner relinquishment. She has a exuberant outlook on life even though she was confined for six days not knowing her fate. Once she arrived in her new foster home, it was learned that she loves toys and balls, and carries them everywhere. Her favorite thing to do is drop a ball in her water bowl and "dig" it out. A little messy, but worth seeing her so happy and enjoying herself. At 13 months, she is still a puppy. She has outgrown "chewing on everything", but she still has the playfulness of a pup. Our two dogs get along wonderfully with her, as well as her interaction with them. She is wearing them out with her youthful antics. I'm told and seen that she likes children. Crystal is housetrained, but was discovered to have a urinary tract infection, which is being treated with antibiotics. She should be in perfect health within 10 days. Our vet said she most probably contacted this at the shelter, along with a few fleas with which we are also dealing. She is now up to date on all vaccinations, is microchipped, and is heartworm negative. She has been bathed and groomed, and is now looking quite spiffy! She is an excellent watchdog, but wouldn't hurt a soul. A ride in the car is a joy, as she is very well behaved. Sit, Stay, and Come are in her vocabulary, and apparently has had some obedience training, but we still have to keep reminding her of that. She pulls on a leash, but is highly trainable. Her eyes are always focused on you intently, waiting for direction. Like most fieldies, she loves to run and play, and keeps a keen eye in the sky for flyovers. I was told at the shelter that she has some separation anxiety and barks if left alone (per her previous owner). Thus, I feel it best if Crystal goes to a family that has a canine companion as a playmate, or a stay at home family member to help her thru this stage in her life. Due to her young age, if handled correctly, it will pass. A large yard would be ideal, as she is very active and needs the room to burn off that energy. If that is not the case, perhaps an active family that is into jogging, walking, or other type activity that allows Crystal the opportunity to exercise on a regular basis would be desired. All-in-all, this little girl is as sweet as they come, and will make some deserving family a fantastic Forever Companion. Please find it in your heart to adopt this little girl and make her life complete. You'll be surprised what she'll do for your soul as well.
