Album Info:

Age: 4 years Gender: Female Color: Black/White Weight: 40 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Meet Lua, a sweet young gal who specializes in cuddling. Lua is playful and will retrieve a ball for hours. She'll jump into the water to get the ball, too! She would like to be with you whenever possible. She has a huge fenced backyard to play in, but prefers to play with someone or be curled up in your lap. Lua likes to ride in the car and go to the groomer. She is crate trained and is housetrained. She has not hunted. She has never taken any obedience classes, but knows the basics. She is in great health and is up to date on shots and spayed. She is very easy to get along with. She has the bad habits of counter surfing, jumping up to greet you, and whining when she wants to come inside the house. Other than that, she's very well-behaved. She even stays off the furniture if asked, but loves to cuddle with you on the couch and bed. Lua walks well on leash, with her Gentle Leader. She also stays around pretty well off-leash. NO CATS for Lua, please!. Lua needs a new home because her family moved to an apartment that wouldn't take dogs. If Lua goes to a home with another dog, it would be best if the other dog was not an Alpha female. A few times, Lua fought with another Alpha female over toys. She gets along well with the female Springer that she lives with, but is still a bit dominant. Food is the main issue, so feeding separately would be a good idea. She would do well in a home with kids but again we would be careful with food as Lua can take a treat from you nicely sometimes... but not always. She was raised with a two year old and an infant, and is very tolerant of the toddler taking things away from her, even out of her mouth. She prefers the adults for the snuggling, though. We will be looking for a special home for Lua. She is a success story. She originally came from a bad environment, yet she comes across as if nothing bad has ever happened to her. She can be very scared of some men. Usually, she reacts well to strangers, but certain people can make her cower, bark, and growl. When Lua came to my work to meet me, she was terrified of one of my co-workers. All she could do was bury her head in her mom's lap. When Lua's family bought their house 3.5 years ago, in a for sale by owner deal, they were told that the dog came with the house. The seller didn't want the five-month-old puppy and threatened to shoot her. Of course, Lua's family was glad to take her in. We don't know exactly what her first 5 months of life were like, but we imagine they were not good. Lua has come a long, long way, and really appears to be a "normal" dog when you meet her. Still, we'll be looking for someone with a gentle manner and an extremely loving environment.
