Brian is a scrawny little funny chihuahua mix. He came from the Memphis Animal Shelter. He had flea allergy and had clawed and chewed himself so badly that the vet shaved part of his tail, his rear end and a patch near his neck. He looked pretty bad. He also got sick and I did not know if Brian would make it. Well, his hair is filling in, he thinks he is a clown puppy and he is enjoying life. He has lost his fragile look and seems very happy. He has the funniest way of looking at you, like he is waiting to show you something special if you will just follow him. This dog is dear to my heart and I would love to find a special home for him. Brian has the potential for being a special needs dog. We believe he is a distemper survivor. He is a totally functional pet but distemper is a viral illness that lives along the spinal column. It can remain dormant for years and never resurface or it can cause neurological damage and seizures. Brian is in excellent health and on no medications other than his heartworm prevention. Unless something changes, he is living a normal dog's life and boy is he having fun! I hope to find a special home for this great dog who will be aware of the possibility and still be willing to give him whatever time God allows for him to live a normal life.
