You see, my owner dropped me off at a kill shelter with no explanation. But, lucky for me, ESRA heard about my fate and came immediately to my rescue! Thank goodness there's people like them who are always watching out for Springers just like me. They saved my life. And, so here's my story. My former owner didn't take very good care of me . . . at all. I only weigh in at about 31 lbs. right now. They say I'm a "bag of bones". But, I am eating everything in sight to help me gain some weight. It also turns out that I have heartworms. Once I'm stronger, I'll start heartworm treatment and will then need several weeks of rest. It would be so much easier on me if I could recover in a a nice, soft, warm bed with a family doting over me and giving me goodnight kisses. A fella can dream, can't he? Rumor has it that in ESRA's care, dreams really do come true. My paws, all four, are crossed! But, enough about my health issues because those are only temporary. I'm a really great little guy who gets along well with everyone. When people pet me, I give kisses in return and hold your hand. It's my way of saying "thank you". Once I'm healthy, I'll need a large, fenced yard to be able to get all the exercise we Fieldies need. I'd be perfect for an active and athletic family. I bet I'd be a great companion for an occasional hunter, too. Oh, yeah, I know that "it's what's on the inside that's more important than on the outside", but I do keep hearing the words "gorgeous" and "handsome" when people meet me!
