Age: 2 Years Gender: Male Color: Black/White Variety: Field Bred They told me I gotta tell you a little bit about myself, so here goes. My name's Charlie and I'm 2 years old. That means I'm old enough to know that you gotta do your business outside and when you do gotta do your business, you gotta let someone know, okay? I also know that when you're inside, you don't act crazy-like. Don't get me wrong. I like playing with my doggie sister and brother, but if my foster mom is taking a nap or just watching TV, I love to cuddle up real close to her and watch too. Sometimes, I just sit right on her lap and she doesn't seem to mind one bit. She says it's okay since I'm kinda on the small side for a Springer. I'm a little guy that only weighs about 30 pounds, so I don't take up too much room on the couch or in bed. I don't have a mean bone in my body and love everybody I meet. Now, when I'm outside, that's a whole nother ball game. One of my favorite things to do is to chase bubbles! You ever try that? Gosh, it's so fun, I just LOVE it! All these bubbles go sailing up into the air, and then, when they start to come down, that's when you pop 'em! Pop, pop, pop- I could do that for hours, but usually my foster mom only lets me do it for a little while, and then I'm on to something else. You see, I've got all this energy, so I like to keep busy. I also like to play fetch or play with all my toys. They have a cat here in my foster home too but he's not much fun, so usually I just ignore him. Sometimes though, if he like tries to run away from me I'll run after him, just for fun. You should see him run! Okay, my mom says it's not funny and that I should knock it off, I know, I know… Let's see, what am I forgetting…oh! I'm use to sleeping in my crate at night. I wouldn't mind sleeping closer to my mom, but the crate's cool too as long as I can see her. I'm supposed to work on my manners. Like when I take a treat, sometimes I get so excited that I take it too fast, so you gotta watch your fingers. That's part of the reason that ESRA thinks I should only be placed in a home with kids old enough to work with me, at least 10 years old. I also have to work on walking nice on a leash, I sorta pull sometimes. I know that I can do it better, it just takes practice! Of course, if I see a squirrel or a rabbit, I just want to go after it so bad! Oh, why do they have to tease me that way? So, let's see, where was I? Oh I remember, I'm great with other dogs and cats are okay, just so they don't run from me. I love meeting new people and I'm good in the car. I'll stay in the back seat but of course prefer sitting on your lap and looking out the window, and guess what? I'm learning to swim! How cool is that? I still wear my little water wings but pretty soon I won't need them. I'm housetrained. I settle down nicely when I'm inside the house but I definitely need a new home with a fenced in yard.
