Age: 6 months Gender: Male Color: Black/White Weight: 34 lbs. Variety: Field-Bred Hi, I'm Monte. I have I got a story to tell you. I was found tied to a telephone pole with a rope, just outside of a hospital. I don't know how long I was out there, but it was kinda scary. The next morning, someone came and got me and brought me to this place with all kinds of other dogs and cats too. It was kinda loud, but I had fun just barkin' with all the other dogs. One day, I nice man came and took me out off my cage. He told me he was going to take me to somewhere called ‘Springer Rescue'. Oh Boy, I thought, that sure sounds like fun! They looked me over, and said I was the cutest little thing they ever saw. Then they let me take a nice long nap. When I woke up, something was different. For one thing, I had these bright, green ‘socks' on my feet. They put this goofy collar thing on, so I'm not sure what else they did back there, but I'll have to check it out later. For now, I'm hanging out here in a kennel. It's not too bad. A nice lady comes and visits me. We play fetch and then work on something she calls Basic Commands. Then we cuddle for a while. I'm not sure what I like best, playing fetch or cuddling. She says that I really need to work on my commands and leash training too. I may be young, but I'm smart and a quick learner! How ‘bout it? You wanna be my teacher? I'll be good, I promise! Update 07 DEC 06: Six month old Monte continues to stay in boarding. We try to visit him as much as possible, but everyone knows that this is NOT a good setting for a six-month-old springer. Monte has so much energy and lots of things to learn. Being cooped up in a kennel all day is like asking your four year old to play with his blocks ALL DAY. NOT!!! Monte needs someone who will throw his favorite toy for him about 100 times, or who loves to go for long walks. He would love to have another young dog to play with. He would love to go to an obedience class where there'd be all kinds of other young dogs to interact with. Do you have the time to give this adorable puppy? Can you make a promise to him that you'll give him all the attention and love that he so desperately needs or is he going to spend his first Christmas in a kennel, with no tree to dance around, no wrapping paper to shred to bits… okay, maybe not that last part, but you get the idea! Why not call his coordinator today to make an appointment to meet him? He's waiting for you!
