He was an owner relinquishment, and just couldn't get the love and attention he needed. Buddy is a Springer that likes to be near you all the time. If he has his way, you will be petting him the whole time, but he is getting much better about settling down and relaxing near you. He loves his daily walk, and loves to play and run around. He does well on a leash, although he will pull when distracted. He is completely housetrained, and knows Sit and Down. He does not jump up on people, and rides well in the car. He is allowed to be loose in the house when his foster parents are not home and he does fine as long as the trash is out of reach. And, you might want to be sure those shoes are put away! He likes to be outside, but preferably not by himself. His foster parents think he is afraid they will leave him out there all alone. He sleeps in their bedroom at night and would love to come up on the bed, and it sure is a temptation, but he is kept inside his crate when the foster parents are not home. He is a large Springer and has a thyroid problem that was not being addressed. He is now on inexpensive thyroid medication, a diet, and getting a lot more exercise than he was, and so will hopefully start losing some weight. He will need his thyroid levels checked periodically to make sure his dosage is correct. He is up to date on his vaccinations, and is heartworm negative.
