We are very pleased to announce that Panda has been adopted by her forever family! Congratulations to all. 5/28/06: Ladies and gentlemen....ATTENTION PLEASE.....Introducing Tennessee's.... and ESRA's ....newest dazzlin' diva .......ME, "The Divine Miss Panda"... "TDMP" !!! ... .ESRA says I am the newest dazzler because I've has gone through my very own version of "Extreme Make-Over"! When I came into ESRA after being surrendered to a local shelter, what a sight I was!...I was malnourished, underweight, and worst of all, unloved!...My coat was a frightful mess...terribly matted with huge bare spots on my entire back from loss of hair...My skin was in horrible condition with a green tint to it and a terrible, offensive odor......Scabs were all over my pitiful litle body.... on my chest, stomach, feet, just everywhere!... A "shave down-puppy cut" was my only choice....Both my ears hurt terribly and were infected from lack of care... so infected, everyone I met thought I was completely deaf... Another really sad thing was everyone thought I was 11 years old due to my pathetic condition.......11 years old!!...The vet said he had not seen any of our past ESRA springers he had treated in such deplorable shape from neglect... With my never-ending "puppy energy", I just had to show my new friends I was just a "youngster" .... I just looked like an old dog on the outside..but oh, so "young at heart" on the inside! ..... Two months later, "The Divine Miss Panda" ..."TDMP"... is making her ESRA debut!!! Look at ME now!! As far as appearance, when the vet saw me recently, he could not believe his eyes....Just kept exclaiming how wonderful I looked ...My skin and hair are in great condition...My sad eyes getting that springer twinkle back in them! My ears look and feel much better....He was amazed and said I was most definitely younger than his first estimate of 11 years old...He estimated my age now to be 8 years old!!!! I also am not totally deaf but do have hearing loss due to my past ear infections going untreated...I do respond to some loud noises or voices, but also do extremely well with hand signals.... As far as personality, I have to say, I am one of the sweetest dogs you will EVER meet...probably the sweetest!! I love everyone, whether 4 legged or 2 legged....young or old! I am quite the snuggler and especially love my tummy rubs! When I was having my weekly medicated shampoo bathtime for "rejuvenating" my skin, I considered the baths "body massages" and in fact, I would get so comfortable I will actually lay my head on the side of the tub and "nap".... I love to be brushed and groomed... and even took a "cat nap" the very first time they put me on the grooming table for my "puppy cut"... No time for "stress" in this girl's life!!! I can hardly wait for my "car rides" and am a wonderful passenger!... I enjoy going outside but much prefer to be inside with my "people".... I am very calm and well-mannered inside and housebroken. I must say I have made a name for myself as I am quite the social butterfly...not an aggressive bone in my body! I am very friendly and have never met a stranger...I have a "contagious" happy attitude ...Watching me "trot" and "prance" produces smiles and giggles from all who are with me....Show me a "lead", and I'll even do my "happy dance" to go for a walk... I can be quite the "ham" on and off camera!! I can "work a crowd"!! I would be a great "entertainer" for those of you who enjoy doing therapy in schools, hospitals, etc....I love stuffed toys and am more than eager to share with you!...I am not food aggressive ...I enjoy being with other dogs and have helped "socialize" other rescues, springers as well as non-springers!! "The Divine Miss Panda"....that's me....TN sure has had and still does have its share of divas...Patsy Cline, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Lee Ann Rimes, Naomi Judd, Dolly Parton... ....Hmmm...."Dollywood".... hmmm....."Pandawood".......has a nice ring to it, don't ya think???!!!!
