In Westport WA the summer brings many thousands of tourists into this tiny little coastal town of around 2000 residents, known as 'The Sport Fishing Capitol Of The World' because of the deep sea charter boats that take the public out each day. The summer also brings various street fairs and other fun activities each week-end, including Crab Races, Wood Carving Contests, Pirate Days, Artist Shows, Antique Car Days, Clam Digging Weekends, Surfing Competitions, many different kinds of fishing derbies, and the list never ends... it even continues through every off-season week-end with Cranberry Bog Festivals, 4-wheeler beach clubs, Lighthouse events, Coast Guard Maritime Museum Seafood Feasts, Singing Contests, Look-alike contests such as Johnny Depp on Pirates of the Caribean on The Lady Washington Tall Ship that was in the movies, Glass Balls Beach Treasure Hunts, Beach Kite Flying competitions, Sand Art contests, 30 Mile Yard Sale Week-end... you name it... it's here... so there is never a dull moment if one wishes to pariticpate in something fun at any time of the year. Christina Nichole and I enjoy attending the events and usually take TickleTwo (our birth defect Blue & Gold Macaw) and tiny Pekingese and/or ShihTzu puppies and huge Rottweilers along. A baby stroller helps tremendously with all our gear. Everyone has fun, and we try to do our part of adding to the atmosphere and entertainment in the crowds.
