He was given up by his owner because she just wasn't able to care for him and give him the exercise he needs, although she loved him very much. Barkley is very good with the other dogs at his foster home, and also with the cats. He only chases them if they run from him, otherwise he ignores them. He is very loving, and likes to sleep with his foster mom with his head on the extra pillow of course! He is very much a cuddler! He has been around older kids and was good with them, laying down for a good old Springer favorite, a belly rub! His foster mom is working on his barking, as it appears he was aptly named, but he is getting much better. Barkley is doing better on the leash, but would probably benefit from some beginning obedience classes, as he probably did not receive much in the way of training previously. He is a very sweet boy, and a typical Springer that likes to be close to his people. He does know basic commands such as “Sit” and “Lay Down”. Barkley is housetrained, neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He is just waiting for that special family to call his own, where he can settle in, and be a wonderful companion and family member.
