Kirby is a beautiful young black and white springer with just a hint of brown on his eyebrows (almost a tri!). He is a sweet dog without an aggressive bone in his body. He loves his foster springer buddies and can be found playing tug of war with them one moment, and then snuggled up against them in a “puppy pile” the next. He is good with the cat also, preferring to leave him in peace. Kirby has not had much positive training or human interaction before coming into ESRA care. He is learning house manners, leash etiquette 101, and that men are good people too! He is invisible fence trained. He has earned an A+ in Snuggling on the Bed, an A for Water Bowl Sloshing, an A in Car Rides, and a B+ in Sitting for a Treat. He is cautious and curious about everything right now. He frequently will give you that springer head tilt with his ears perked, as this way of life is all new to him. He has decided that indoor life is VERY GOOD and wants to be there with you. This beautiful boy will require a family that is willing to train him with patience and love. You’ll be rewarded with a star pupil. Believe me... he’s a teacher’s pet!
