Miss Bean came to ESRA in terrible shape, lots of hair loss and flame red, itchy skin. This condition appears to have been caused by food allergies (a steady diet of cat food) that were then left untreated for several months. Once in our care and after some pretty serious vet care, frequent baths, and homemade meals, her skin condition, while not cured, is much improved. Currently she is eating wheat free kibble. She is on a maintenance level of fluconazole (l table every other day, about $12.00 per month). Miss Bean is a great dog. She is housetrained and doggie door trained. She is good with kids, and indifferent towards cats. She loves to swim and gets along well with other dogs. She does not bolt through an open door or gate, and can be trusted off leash. She knows her basic commands and is a very willing learner. She is good on a leash, loves the dog park, and rides well in the car. She loves attention but is also happy to play in the yard on her own. Her one bad habit is to dig, but dogs will be dogs.
