Age: 7 years Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 63 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Teddy is a calm and mellow boy who is a joy to be around. He is very friendly and sweet and everyone likes him. He is excellent with people and other dogs. No cats, please. He loves to romp around the yard and is a big fan of jumping in the leaves. He is calm in the house and likes to find a quiet spot near you. He likes riding in the car, but pants quite a bit. He is not a barker and we haven't even heard a whimper yet. Teddy is housetrained and knows a few commands such as come here and sit. We'll be working on more. He pulls very hard on the leash but a Gentle Leader and regular walks should help. He is in good health and in great shape. He has a lot of energy and likes to run. He could use a better diet. Poor nutrition is to blame for his dry skin, tartar on teeth, and the extra 5-7 pounds he needs to lose. We've run heartworm and thyroid tests, and will know the results soon. We had to groom Teddy for several hours and it really showed his character. He is patient, loving, and trusting. We were working on a very painful wound on his ear and he was just wonderful. He was a little scared at first, and he shook, causing the grooming table to shake. But he was completely cooperative and soon was "helping" us. When it was all over, he danced around the room. Teddy is just a great dog in every way, completely easygoing and very loving. His warm brown eyes follow you everywhere, and his wag is very cute. He loves to lean up against you, or sit right at your feet. If you let him, he will snuggle in your lap. Let Teddy be your teddy bear to cuddle with. Update 17 NOV 06: The tests came back and heartworm was negative. Teddy does have low thyroid, so meds were prescribed (they are less than $10/month). He loves to go on runs and can run four miles easily. He does great on the leash when he is on a jog with his foster dad. He is learning how to be better at recall. He is very easy to get along with and they still haven't heard him bark yet!
