This is the problem with cages. If you can't get the right ratio between you, the cage and the subject it is hard to make them disappear with a wide apeture.

Tony, I didn't open up your picture to have a look because I hate, just hate, seeing birds caged like this. And so I did my best to ignore it. But you know, you have been chosen as a winner and I am glad, for maybe people will see not just a good foto, but how terribley wrong it is to put these poor creatures in a cage. Birds were meant to fly and use their wings and unfortunately, once they have been caged, it is very hard to release them. They not only don't know how to fend for themselves but other birds are highly territorial. He looks SO forlorn and bored and miserable. I see all of the noisy, wonderful, Australian birdlife around me and rejoice in their freedom and beauty.
