My former owners kept me but really didn't want a dog. They never had me fixed, never left me in the house, and didn't make regular vet appointments and then dumped me. The shelter had started talking about euthanasia so when the lady came to take me for a ride I was pretty scared. I was transported to an ESRA foster home. My foster home is very nice. I have good food with a little cottage cheese mixed in to help put on a couple of pounds. I get to stay and sleep INSIDE.! There is a nice dog bed for me to sleep on but sometimes I curl up next to my foster mom. Best of all my foster mom says that ESRA will help me find a forever home. First my foster mom and I will work on making me a house gentleman. She says that it is very important to be housetrained and just everyone that comes to meet you will want you. You are such a good dog. You won't be up for adoption long. These are the things she tells me and they sound sooooo good. NOTES FROM JERRY'S FOSTER MOM: Jerry is 4 years old and is tri colored . He will be altered before leaving ESRA's care. Like Jerry said we are making his housetraining the first priority. Other than that he has been well behaved. Of course something that smells really good should not be left on the counter for temptation. He is interested in meeting Simon the cat but hasn't chased him yet. Although after my last foster dog Simon the cat is not giving Jerry much of a chance to chase him! Jerry is getting along great with my two springers (a male and a female). He does however need to be kept away from the guinea pig cage. I am using a regular leash to walk him. He takes treats nicely. He has met a10 and a 4 1/2 year child and even gave them kisses. He loves to be hugged and petted and told what a good dog he is. Jerry is a real catch.
