His curly hair is a little unusual for a Springer, but suits his fun loving and gentle personality. This is an incredibly nice and well behaved dog. He listens well, is not rough, loves to play fetch, and gently drops the toy in your lap. He comes quickly when called, never pulls on the leash, sits on command, and is very sweet. He is not a barker. Jake intently seeks out your approval. He is crate trained, and can spend the workday sleeping in his crate while you are away. He prefers not to be left alone, and does better if left with another dog for company. He loves to curl up in your lap whenever you sit down, if you let him, but also understands and takes "no" for an answer. He requires only moderate exercise, but is happy to go on hour-long hikes if you choose to take him. He loves to play with other dogs or people, but does not do well with cats. He would be an ideal companion for a senior pet, a loyal and loving friend for an older person or couple, or a great family pet. He would do well in an apartment or with a small yard.
