Age: 4 years Gender: Male Color: Black/White Weight: 63 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-Bred This gorgeous, bench bred boy is Sammy and he can’t wait to find his Forever Home! Sammy’s first family found that they did not have the time for Sammy and he was not getting the love, attention, or exercise that an active Springer needs so they asked ESRA to help find him a new home. Sammy is a great boy, very playful and very affectionate. He loves to play outside but also settles down in the house very nicely. He is wonderful with kids of all ages including infants and toddlers, he definitely has the kid stamp of approval! Sammy was crate trained for the first two years of his life but doesn’t need his crate anymore as he has very good house manners, housetrained and does not chew on things, unless his of course, when left alone. We aren’t sure yet about how Sammy would do in a multi-dog household, he has done okay with the bigger dogs in his foster home but still having issues with the smaller ones. It did take him a couple of days to “work things out” with the bigger dogs but did eventually do fine with them. Sammy walks very well on leash and knows sit and other basic commands. He is very much a typical Springer in that he just loves attention, nothing beats a good belly rub in his mind. Sammy would be excellent for a family with small kids as he loves them and is a calmer Springer. Sammy will make a wonderful family pet and become a loving member of your family in no time. Sammy is neutered, up to date on all his vaccinations and heartworm negative. All he is waiting for is that special family he can call his own! Sammy has been in his foster home about 3 weeks now and is doing just great! He gets along really well with the 5 resident dogs, the biggest a Newfoundland and the smallest weighing only 1 lb. He also does just fine with his Springer foster brother so he would do very well in a multi-dog household after the "getting to know each other" phase. Sammy is a really sweet, great family dog who would love to find his Forever Family for the holidays!
