Age: 4 Years Gender: Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 45 lbs Variety: Bench/Show-Bred Guy is one of the nicest dogs I have fostered. He is quiet, sweet, eager to learn, but he is very shy. He came to ESRA from a puppy mill where we took in 14 dogs. Physically, the dogs were in good shape; nice coat, good weight, heartworm and parasite free. Socially though, they behave as dogs who have spent the bulk of their lives in a kennel, go figure. It appears that Guy was low dog on the totem pole. Our work with Guy is to improve his social behavior so he does not cower in corners. Guy loves to play and romp in our large backyard. Learning to come to his name and simple commands has come a long way in a short time. He will wait his turn to have a treat, enter the house and will kennel on command. He is house-regulated so he can spend time in the house without accidents. We are gradually increasing this time and moving him to where we can call him house-trained. His leash walking is improving, as he no longer tries to hide between my legs. Guy deserves a life without fear. He deserves to be treated to a home that will love him and keep him safe.
