Album Info:
Age: 5 Years Gender: Spayed Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 50 lbs Variety: Bench/Show Bred Sammie came into foster care as a result of a divorce. She lived with her companion, Sadie, who is 10, all her life. Unfortunately, Sadie is in ESRA hospice care as she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Sadie will be kept comfortable and loved for the remainder of her life. Sammie is a bundle of sweetness. She is gentle with the children and other dogs she meets at her Petsmart visits and has bonded quickly with her foster Mom. When she came into foster care she was timid but is now playing with toys and her foster brothers and sisters. Sammie is not a barker, a chewer and is housebroken. She is crate trained, knows "sit" "wait" and is learning to heel but could benefit from additional training in that area. Sammie is an absolute bundle of sweetness who is always sleeping at the door waiting for her foster Mom when she returns home. She is loving, a snuggler and currently enjoys spending the night curled up next to foster Mom in bed. We did notice a slight limp when Sammie arrived and it was attributed to the way she got out of the van....when it came back we had her Xrayed and she does in fact, have Hip Dysplasia. Hip Dysplasia can be fairly common in some dogs that are bred by amateur or "back yard" breeeders since testing of parents and puppies is routinely done by responsible breeders. Sammie will be re-evaluated by an orthopedic specialist later this month but many dogs lead long and happy lives with this condition. Swimming, keeping the dog slender and proper diet is a must. Sammie deserves a forever home where she never has to move again. Where she is loved and cherished like the wonderful little girl she is.
