Album Info:
Age: 5 years Gender: Male Color: Black/White Weight: 45 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show -Bred Beaumont, aka Beau, is a five-year-old, neutered, black and white male, who is up-to-date on his vaccines and heartworm free. He was pulled from a high-kill shelter because his time was running out. The shelter asked for our assistance because Beau had mange, and they knew he would not be adopted unless we took him in for his treatment to save him. ESRA stepped up, and a new volunteer came forward to take care of this boy. His foster mom says he was in terrible condition from the mange, and she said the shelter heard from others that Beau was often left to fend for himself. He has been treated for the mange, which has been erradicated, and he is starting to grow in a beautiful new coat. He was a star patient for the vets that were treating him. They admired his good nature and how well he handled being examined and vaccinated for the mange. Since he was picked up as a stray, we know nothing about his background. In the time he has been with his foster mom, we have learned he does very well with other dogs, and his biggest appeal is his smile. When he is happy to see you he has a bark that sounds like a seal, and he curls his nose to give you a big goofy smile. He makes friends quickly, and enjoys meeting people and greets everyone with a friendly wag of his tail. He is a calm dog who loves to lie at your feet. Beau is a velcro dog, as most Springers are. He loves to have his ears scratched and his belly rubbed. Frequently he can be found on his back with a smile on his face and twinkle in his eye that says; "Please, please rub my tummy." At some point in his life someone spent time with Beau, because he knows how to use a doggy-door, plays with toys, knows some basic commands, and is good on a leash. However, he could use a tune-up. Beau is crate trained and able to jump a four-foot fence, so he would need constant supervision while outside, or a taller fence. We also think an electronic fence might keep him on his property, once he learns how to use it. He loves going for rides in the car, and will give someone many, many years of love. He has not been infant tested, or cat tested, but his good nature tells us he should not be a problem with either.
