Age: 2 years Gender: Female Color: Black/White Weight: 45 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-bred Does this sound like a fair trade to you...the undying devotion of a darling young pup, in exchange for some patient guidance??? If this sounds like a great deal to you, you are going to want to meet little miss Dottie! Dottie is an adorable two year old, black and white, bench bred female ESS. She comes with all the exuberance and antics of a young Springer, but also with more than her fair share of affection and cuddles (sure to make you forget her puppy mischief in no time!). Due to illness and some difficult circumstances in her current family, Dottie has not had the opportunity for too much training or socialization. She is potty trained, but has some problems with submissive urination on fairly rare occasions (when she is frightened, visits the groomer, etc.). The groomer says she is a VERY good girl when she's there though. Dottie is VERY eager to please, bright, and also motivated by treats. As a result, she learns commands quickly and will probably be a marvelous "student" when someone spends some time with her. A family prepared to provide the training and patient guidance a young pup requires, including obedience classes, is a MUST for Dottie. We suspect Dottie would do well with other dogs, and might enjoy a canine companion to play with, but this is based on somewhat limited observation so far, and would need to be tested further. She has been around children just a bit, and appears to be good with them, but again, the information is limited and this area is still somewhat unknown. Dottie will need daily walks and plenty of exercise, as she is a youngster with plenty of energy. But she also appears to settle down nicely in the home, and loves nothing more than a head-in-your-lap snuggle. Dottie has some allergies that create itchiness, and her new owners will need to feed her quality food designed to minimize allergic reactions (some testing has been done, but so far, the exact allergy source has not been pinpointed). Dottie is in excellent health otherwise, up to date on shots, and has her paperwork for AKC registration if her new owners wish to register her. Oh, and please don't hold it against her because the picture-taker doesn't know how to use a camera - - these pictures DO NOT do this cutie pie justice! But don't take my word for it, come and see her yourself!
