Everyone that meets Maverick loves him and so do we! Maverick is housetrained, crate-trained, invisible-fence trained, walks well on a leash, is not a runner, and not a barker except when he gets excited playing with other dogs. He gets along with other dogs and kids of all ages. He's enjoying his new life being an inside dog, and just goes with the flow of life. He does have a liking for real leather, though, and enjoys his chew toys. Maverick is an owner relenquishment. Why?? He has an allergy or intolerance to meat protein. In other words, he is a vegetarian. We have him on Natural Balance Vegetarian dry dog food, and so far the rash has not returned, and it's been about two months now. So his new home will need to keep him on this food, and be willing to watch his diet. The food can be purchased in a pet store; no prescripton needed. Maverick can still have some regular treats, just not meat-based, and a few other things in moderation.
