Album Info:
Age: 3 Years Gender: Spayed Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 33 lbs Variety: Bench/Show Bred When you meet Lucy you will be surprised she is 3 years old because she is still very much a puppy. She has lived her entire 3 years on a screen porch, never allowed to live inside the house with her people. When their health failed and they were no longer able to take her out to relieve herself, they decided it would be best to find a new home for her. Her owners provided good vet care but she really has not had the quality cuddle time she really wants. She is very exuberant and shy at the same time. She needs some guidance in the house, it's all a new wonderful world for her and she wants to see what is on the counters and every nook and cranny. She is not a barker unless she is trying to get her foster siblings to play. She will play bow and bark until they finally give in. She needs daily exercise to use up her puppy energy. A house with another dog to play with would be great, but if you want a companion all your own, she's the girl for you. Lucy is petite, healthy and ready meet her new family. UPDATE! 9/21/05: Lucy has started to be more self assured around here-- she was very skittish at first. She was pretty traumatized by her relocation from the screen room to the WORLD! Her potty training is progressing. She is eating better and starting to take treats. She is not a big fan of the crate, we have to place her in there, but if it's dinner time, then she will follow her bowl into the crate. She sleeps in the crate in our room and immediately jumps on the bed when released from the crate. I think she would prefer a house where she can sleep in the bed and use the furniture. She learned the invisible fence very quickly, one session with just a couple corrections. She has a fasination with paper and will steal it out of our recycle bin. She always gives it up with no problem, I think it's more about trying to get you to play with her. She is very quiet on her feet and I have stepped on her or tripped over her many times so an elderly person would not be a good match. I don't know how she is with kids or cats. She is good with our springers but I think she would like to take control if the job wasn't already filled. She rides very well in the car and will jump into any vehicle with an open door. I think she's trying to tell us she wants to go!
