He was surrendered to an Austin, TX shelter (along with his little terrier pal) by owners who had fled Hurricane Katrina, and found they could no longer keep their dogs. At first fearful and unsure, Brinkley paced and panted and didn't eat during his first days in ESRA's care. But with a little patience, Brinkley has settled in to his foster home that he shares with a female Springer. He is healthy, housetrained, loves to go on car rides, is quiet and friendly. He walks nicely on leash and loves to be with his foster mom and dad. He particularly seems interested in little dogs that they meet on their walks. We feel Brinkley would do best in a home with another small dog, and older children or adults. He's a beautiful dog who needs some time to readjust to his new situation. If you are interested in meeting Brinkley, you must be willing to travel to the Austin area.
