Considered Hawaii's unofficial State Fish. The reef triggerfish is known to Hawaiians as humu-nukunuku-a-pua 'a means the triggerfish with a snout like a pig. These fish smell & grunt like a pig when fished from the water. They are considered an acceptable substitute in Hawaiian religious ceremonies where pig would normally be offered.
