Miles - ABQ / Santa Fe, NM

Age: 18 months Gender: Male Color: Black/White Weight: 55 lbs. Variety: Field-bred Miles is a gentle giant. Given his young age, he's unusually laid back and unusually big. He's tall and skinny and 55 pounds already. He's a very sweet, content, and fairly-well-mannered boy in spite of an obvious lack of training. He is learning his commands quickly. He behaved well at the shelter and at the vet, rides quietly in a car-even on day-long trips, gets along great with other dogs and was disinterested in the one cat he has met so far. He usually walks well on the leash, but hang on tight when he decides he wants to visit with something of great interest (a person, another dog, a critter.). He definitely likes being part of the family but oftentimes he just wants to hang out nearby. He is very social but is not clingy. Miles was a stray picked up by Aztec, NM animal control. It appears that he was neglected but not otherwise abused. Miles will be ready for adoption in early-October. But he is available now to an appropriate foster-to-adopt home.
