Album Info:
Age: 4 yrs. Gender: Neutered Male Color: Liver/White Weight: 50 lbs. Variety: Bench/Show-Bred Update: We haven't updated Killian's progress lately, so we thought we would fill everyone in on how he is doing. We took him to the vet today for an ear infection, which was no big deal. He weighed in at a stout 80 lbs. Yes; he just went on a diet. We discovered that he enjoys fetching tennis balls. We also have a new arrival recently, Gracie, our daughter is two months old, and Killian does just fine around her. We also took Killian camping early this summer and he did great; he was leash free most of the time at the camp grounds and was just a joy for us as well as the other campers. He is 100% leash free here on our property. He doesn't wander out of our 7-acre yard, but it took him a while to learn the boundaries. He is a wimp in thunderstorms. He just needs a permanent home, as he is becoming so attached here, and the longer he stays, the harder the adjustment will be. His is also AKC registered, complete with paperwork. Killian is pretty much a mystery to us; we don't know a whole lot about him. He came to us through the foster system and he had already visited the vet before he arrived. It took him a few days to pick up on the rules since, for the first time in 14 years, we didn't have any other dogs here to serve as a mentor. He is an easy one to work with, very teachable and takes to discipline and commands well. Killian is all about people-—wherever you are is where he wants to be. He is content to just be near you, but he does not like being to far from you. We do not have a fence and with Killian have not needed one. He has the privilege of several hundred acres filled with rabbits and squirrels and all kinds of neat stuff, but he chooses to sit on the back porch and wait for human attention. He is all Springer in terms of energy, but settles down quickly and we have had several naps in the hammock together. He loves to cuddle. Our cat almost interests him-—but not quite-—and I can't picture him ever hurting anyone. I have forced the issue to see if he is at all aggressive and even when severely antagonized he will not bite or become aggressive. We took him to Kelley's Island for a weekend trip and he was exposed to a lot of people and kids and did exceptionally well.
