This guys name is Dunbars Gold, he is a chimera, not a true bridle. His pattern is caused by the fusing of twin embryos in the womb who where of two different colors. They found this out when he was bred to another brindle mare and the foals dna didn't match either parents records. There are some true brindle producing stallion out there. i even found a brindle paint mare.

I would have never believed it until I saw your picture. I am reading a book by Sara Gruen titled Riding Lessons, and it's about a brindle horse. I too have been around horses all my life and had not heard of this. thanks for the photo.

Wow, I've been around horses all my life (I'm not young) And I can honestly say I've NEVER seen a brindle horse (Dane dog, yes, horse never) Thanks for sharing!!!
