Album Info:

Age: 9 Years Gender: Spayed Female Color: Liver/White Weight: 40 lbs Variety: Bench/Show Bred Ellie was found as stray and taken to the shelter. She was quite frightened. Ellie definitely belonged to someone, she has been well taken care of. She is UTD on vaccines, spayed and HW negative. Ellie really enjoys exploring the fenced backyard. SHe also loves playing in the water. She has settled in with her foster mom and sisters very well. Ellie had a large growth on her right front chest area. It has been removed and we re happy to report it was just a fatty tumor! Ellie also had a clogged tear duct repaired. She tolerated the surgery very well. Ellie is a senior girl at the age of almost 9 years. She is hearing impaired but that definitely does not stop her from exploring the fenced back yard and playing in the water hose. Ellie would enjoy having her new family around a lot. Ellie takes supplements to keep her hips going. Believe me they do not slow her down, she does stairs very well. Please take a close look at this very pretty senior girl! This little lady was most definitely someone's "lover girl". She has not met a stranger and adores being around people and other dogs. This sweetie settled in with us the minute she arrived. Ellie holds up her paw to shake as she gets a treat...obviously she had an adoring family who spent a lot of time with her. She likes to eat ice, drinks out of the water hose, goes to the door when she wants to go outside, enjoys walks, and rides well in the car, and sleeps soundly all night. As for Miss Ellie....the plot thickens here. First of all, the vet put her age at 7 to 8. She is heartworm negative, She has a mass that needs to come out on left front leg. The vet (who is wonderful and has a special fondness for rescues) seems to think it is nothing. And....she has a backbone issue thus the problems with walking. Ellie was obviously in pain as the closer the vet got to her tail on her backbone. 8/20/05: Ellie is doing very well. She had the "fatty" growth removed and her tear duct repaired. She will need eye ointment for a couple of weeks and her stitches removed from the growth removal in a couple of weeks as well. Her hips are not in the best shape, but definitely not the worst I have ever seen. Her hips should keep her going for a long time with the help of some good joint supplements and the right diet. The vet said Ellie is in tip top health and will make some lucky person a great family member! It has been established that Ellie is a senior citizen, but she hides it quite well. She is a bit hearing impaired but that does not stop her from loving you. She enjoys the company of other mellow dogs and a good jaunt around the yard exploring. She really loves to play in the water. Ellie is definitely a velcro Springer who would appreciate her humans being home with her a lot of the time. If you are looking for a travel companion Ellie fits the bill. She is the best car rider I have ever been with. By the way Ellie ignored the clinic cat, so she is cat friendly. 8/23/05: Ellie continues to do very well and her stitches will come out in about two weeks. I think somewhere there is a very sad human because they lost such a lover girl. Ellie was obviously well trained and used to being out in the house since she does not bother a thing even in the mess that I have right now because I am painting. I definitely think she would enjoy the company of another calm canine brother or sister in her forever home. She is laid back, but she comes "alive" when the occasion demands it....like when the need arises to chase a rabbit in my yard. I think Ellie would do well with older (10 or so) children who want a dog that will be a faithful friend and companion. My 18 and 19 year old nephews adored her and she slept on the floor beside the oldest one's bed when he was here. Ellie obviously adores men....flirty girl that she is.
