More keep dying, so more albums are added. 1st pup is one I tried to save - rest are the usual stories. Until the killing stops, the ''gone'' albums will continue to grow in number.

  • Do you mean all these dogs have been put down? Even all the pups that you show in your different albums? Where is this shelter? Do you have foster homes, rescue groups, public education, a spay/neuter program??? Is there anything anyone can do to help that is outside your community?   • There are many rescue groups and rescue people in the Memphis area. Those groups regularly pull dogs from this shelter and regularly hold adoption days. There is a spay/neuter program sponsored by the local Animal Protection Association. Even with all that, there are SO MANY dogs the come into this shelter that there are just NOT ENOUGH people to save them all. Public Education - that is a definite problem with no easy answer. The city doesn't even attempt to do it or fund for it. APA and other private groups (HSUS) do what they can. There are just way too many ignorant and/or irresponsible people out there (when it comes to pet ownership).
