Our black standard also had SA. She lost a lot of her hair when she was 2 1/2 yrs old (1995). Fortunately, we had a great vet who diagnosed SA immediately with a plug test. We found Dr. Dunston and the GRF on the internet and they were a tremendous help. We then did the oil bath routine for the next 11 yrs. Our poodle, Ursa, looked exactly like Ollie: same smile, hair cut, nose and build. From your photos we recognized Ollie's somewhat less than full ears. We were thrilled when our dog's ears got that full again! She also went through a couple "flat-top" stages. In addition to SA, she had hypothyroidism and bloated twice. (A real poster poodle for bad genetics.) We had her until age 13 1/2 and will be searching for another standard in about a year from now. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos and Ollie's SA experience. I found this site after reading about you in The Poodle Papers/Spring Edition. Arlene and Ron
