  • I have been at the shelter and loved on all these dogs (except the 2 pups that were scared to death!) Me and my friend have been trying to get these dogs adopted and it makes me SICK. The 'poodle mix' that you had listed as a possible PBGV was exactly that. I contacted a PBGV rescue and they got him out. You have one one today that they have 'sheepdog-RECLAIMED' NOT.... I contacted Otterhound rescue and the lady was not sure if she was an otterhound, but adopted her anyway. I guess when we ask what happens to a certain dog they just guess!? Is that what they do? We are new at dealing with this shelter, so if you read this, let me know anything you can on this matter. We want to help anyway we can. Thanks, KRISTIE

  • I may be wrong, but it kinda sounds like someone was cleaning house before they went on vacation to me. Why else would so many be PTS and then others were altered BEFORE they are adopted, then we're told the vet will be taking some time off starting the 18th? Is it possible?

  • Looks like to me these lazy asses wanted to take a break from poop scooping. I tried to adopt the lab mix but they put him down before we got there. We even called them to hold him. These people in this shelter n Memphis need to be beat to a pulp instead of pts. Maybe they will know what pain is.

  • I think it is sick what they do to so many sweet & loving dogs & cats. When I am an adult I am going to do all I can to help out these poor helpless animals. Thank you for making me more aware of what is going on.

  • I think people need to realise shelter animals are not always euthanised just because the shelter people are mean and want to do away with them...more often then not, there are just TOO MANY and not enough space to take care of all the abandoned animals that come in! I *do* know that places like this should give the animals more chance if they can, and it seems like some people working in shelters just don't care, and that really shouldn't happen..but it also bothers me that some people aren't aware that there wouldn't be such a problem with animals being put down if more people were *responsible*, as in not giving up on there pets and getting them fixed!! Getting off my soap box now. Thank you for doing the very difficult work you do!

  • We all know the problem is that most irresponsible pet owners don't fix there animals...Why not avoid instead of destroy??? If you can't fix them, you don't need them.

  • So sad I would have adopted that f rottie in this album. Where I live the shelter doesn't have any "set Date" and all animals get a chance at adoption except extreamly aggressive animals. Some animals can be in adoption for months if the have really good temperments. Alot of animals get put down no matter how sweet they are. So very sad. My album is the animal abuse album in pets. Thanks for making people see what goes on behind closed doors............

  • I just found this website today. I've been crying eversince. Though it is extremely difficult to look at the pictures of alll the wonderful animals who were never given a chance, it is great that the hunderds of animals were photographed. Everyone who has logged onto your site need to send a link to everyone you know. Everytime someone says they are looking for a puppy, email this site. Everyone of the dogs started out as a puppy with great potential to bring love into someones' heart. Instead, they were abused and neglected and ended up in a high kill shelter. I live in Massachusetts, Tennessee is not to far to go to save a dogs life. Even if it is too far for someone else, remember that every shelter in every state is over run with dogs waiting for someone to love. Don;t let this continue to happen day after day.
