This is a great album. Is this in Pennsylvania? There are many Amish families there. I think they may be smart in using horse and cart. We all may have to go backwards and begin using horses and carts to get around with gas prices the way they are. Congratulations on your featured album.

Congratulations of this wonderful Featured album and it's very deserving to be chosen. I love the Amish people and greatly admire them. You are so lucky to be able to get so close to them. We have them in our area, but about 40 miles or so away. In the area of Harmony, MN they allow group tours of some of their farms. Do NOT take photos of their faces, every one is told. The gentle giants! Wonderful horses - I am lucky enough to spend 2 halfdays a week with the Clydesdales of the Victor Harbor Horsedrawn tramway in Australia. They are well treated too, and seem to love their work.

Hi Shirley, You have documented very well the working lives of horses in this album and the standard of your photography is excellent! I have never been so aware as while looking at these pictures of what it must be like to be in that suffocating harness.
