Hey Barbara! So nice to hear from you! thanks so much for stopping to visit my Love of Horses Album! First I have to say, I am happy you didn't get injured in your fall. If you are really not feeling safe on your horse, it is not worth it and time to change, I'd change for a Luisitano anytime :D. You work hard, and the time you spend on horseback should be a pleasure not a tense experience. Everybody clicks with a different horse, you have to find the one you click with. I really clicked with Cytron, although he's quite a horse, we had this little thing. I am the only one who could touch his ears or upper neck. I am the only one he would not run away from when approached with a bridle, we loved to go out. But he is an Endurance Racer used to winning and when you go out with a group of horses that is the way he acts. We feel in a ditch together 2 years ago, he fell on top of me after being kicked full blast broadside in the stomach so he fell over with me (by a very rude rider who did a stupid thing with her dangerous horse). My back was injured. After a year, last January, I got back onto a friend's arabian horse. I didn't know he hadn't been ridden a lot, so we went into the woods and he just went crazy, I feared for my safety, tried to do an emergency dismount, tried to slow my jump off with my arm holding onto the back of the saddle so my back wouldn't get hurt by the impact, and ripped my rotator cuff in my shoulder. That almost totally disabled me for 6mths last year, lots of physical therapy. Now I finally have about 90% use of my right arm again. I did sit on a horse again for the first time 4 weeks ago. Bareback on my friends ranch! Only a walkride for 45 minutes and that was nice. I don't have much confidence at this time, afraid to get hurt again. Not a good thing...so I will take it very easy...we'll see what happens...I go back to Germany now for 2 months and maybe there will go for a few country rides???
